Two carnivore pizza variations: Cheese-Crust Pizza and Minimalist Carnivore Pizza. All zero-carb, high-protein options with 42-44g protein per serving.
Traditional pizza crusts are off-limits on carnivore, but giving up pizza doesn't have to mean giving up the satisfaction. These two carnivore approaches transform meat and cheese into satisfying pizza alternatives that rival their carb-heavy counterparts.
**Cheese creates the perfect crust:** When mozzarella melts and bakes, its proteins form a flexible, crispy base that mimics traditional dough texture. The cheese provides both structure and flavor while staying completely zero-carb.
**Meat-based crusts hold up to toppings:** Ground chicken or beef mixed with eggs creates a sturdy foundation that won't fall apart under heavy meat toppings. The protein matrix binds everything together without any flour or grains.
**High protein density:** Both versions deliver 45-55g of protein per serving - nearly double traditional pizza. You get complete nutrition from animal proteins while satisfying pizza cravings.
**Versatile for any carnivore mode:** The cheese-crust version works for relaxed carnivore, while the meat-crust option accommodates strict carnivore needs. Both eliminate grains and carbs completely.
Fastest prep, strong cheese flavor, simpler preparation with mozzarella crust
Preheat oven to 400°F
Mix 10 oz mozzarella, parmesan, and egg in a bowl
Microwave 30-45 seconds until slightly melted and pliable
Spread mixture on parchment-lined pizza pan to form 1/4" thick crust with raised edges
Bake 8-10 minutes until edges turn golden brown
Top with ground beef, sausage, and bacon
Sprinkle 6 oz mozzarella over toppings
Bake 5 minutes until cheese melts completely
Rest 3-5 minutes before slicing into 4 pieces
Storage and reheating: Let pizza cool completely, then store slices in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. To freeze: wrap individual slices tightly in plastic wrap, then place in freezer bags for up to 2 months. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 8-10 minutes until heated through, or air fryer at 350°F for 5-6 minutes - never microwave or the cheese gets rubbery.
I've tried all three options and Option 1 (meat crust) is my absolute favorite! The beef crust holds up perfectly and has such a satisfying texture. My husband who isn't even carnivore said it was better than regular pizza. We make this every Friday night now!
Option 2 with the cheese crust is incredible! I was skeptical but the mozzarella crust gets crispy on the edges and chewy in the middle. Takes like 20 minutes total. This killed my pizza cravings while staying zero carb. Mind blown.
The minimalist version (Option 3) with ground chicken is my go-to! 44g of protein per slice is insane. I prep the crust on Sunday and add fresh toppings throughout the week. Game changer for meal prep.
Really good recipe! My first attempt at the meat crust was a bit greasy, but I drained the fat like instructed and the second bake with toppings fixed it. Made it again last night and it was perfect. Learning curve but worth it.
Finally a pizza I can eat on carnivore! I switch between all three options depending on my mood. The cheese crust is fastest for busy weeknights. All three are delicious and actually satisfy pizza cravings. My non-carnivore kids even eat it!
The meat crust version is LOADED with protein and keeps me full for hours. I add extra pepperoni because why not. Cost per slice is reasonable too - way cheaper than takeout and infinitely healthier. This is now my Saturday night tradition.
I've made all three versions multiple times. Option 1 is best for feeding a crowd, Option 2 is quickest, Option 3 is strictest carnivore. Love having the variety! The instructions for each option are super clear and easy to follow.
Does the meat crust come out too greasy? I'm worried about it being oily.
Hi Marcus! Not if you drain it properly. The recipe tells you to drain the fat after the first bake. Drain it thoroughly and the crust comes out perfect - not greasy at all. The second bake with toppings crisps it up nicely.
Tried the cheese crust version tonight and WOW! The edges get so crispy. I microwaved the cheese like instructed and it spread perfectly. My entire family loved this including my picky teenagers.
Good pizza! The meat crust is definitely heavier than regular pizza but incredibly filling. One slice fills me up. I'd recommend starting with Option 2 if you're new to carnivore pizza - it's more familiar.
